I was fortunate enough to be chosen by the Commercial Observer this past fall to illustrate 39 portraits of real estate bigwigs for their Owners Magazine. It was a lot of work and a tight deadline, but I’m very happy with how they turned out. I worked flat out for two weeks, day and night and weekends.
At one point my drafting table looked like this:
And here are the final portraits:
I have a birdfeeder outside the window where I work and it attracts all manner of little songbirds, mostly finches. I have a handy copy of Birds of North America on my desk so I’ve managed to identify most of them.
Here are 3 birds I see regularly on the feeder: slate juncos, white-breasted nuthatches, pine grosbeak (red finch). I used to see them more often, but my neighbour cut down a bunch of foliage on his side of the fence and so the birds have less cover now and don’t frequent my feeder as much 🙁
I feel pretty fortunate to have illustrated portraits for some pretty great magazines recently, including the legendary TIME Magazine. Here are portraits of two doctors and one alumnus.
I hope you all had a nice long weekend. I don’t care much for Easter as a religious holiday, but have always loved all the springtime and cute bunny imagery (and the Cadbury cream eggs I used to receive, ha!). I have lots of Easter decorations in our house up year-round because they’re too cute to put away.
It’s definitely the first sign of spring in Westport; pretty soon the tulips and irises will be blooming in my garden. It never gets old!
